Winter Styling

Is it just us or has it taken a chilly turn this past week? For the first time this year we are finding ourselves more often than not reaching for that thick knit or woolly coat. Add a refreshment to last year’s old winter favourites with our new season cold-weather pieces, as styled by Anna and Wendy…

Boilersuits took the runways by storm last year and they continue to reign supreme in our outfit choices this autumn/winter. Anna wears Selected Femme’s ‘Victoria’ blue denim version. Reassuringly relaxed, it maintains statement appeal. Team with Selected Femme’s chunky ‘Gavina’ shoes and add Isabel Marant Etoile’s ‘Fagan’ coat for extra snugness on your cold-weather strolls.

An old fashion rule we will forever urge people to ditch: you can’t wear colour in the winter! Erm, what? Just because the weather’s gloomy, doesn’t mean your outfit has to match. We love to add a pop of colour with our denim, like Bella Freud’s sweater and Isabel Marant Etoile’s 'Carter' coat. Finish the look by cosying up in Charlotte Simone’s beanie.

Five’s 'Bruna' parka is one of those winter items you won’t want to part with at the end of the season, but it’ll be worn for many more winters to come. Perfectly paired with Raquel Allegra’s tee, DL1961’s denim and Grenson’s boots, the look is so versatile all season long.

For a masterclass in layering, look for inspiration in Anna’s ensemble; Isabel Marant Etoile’s ‘Megan’ knit perfectly teams with Essentiel Antwerp’s python-printed dress and crisp white sneakers. The loosely draped Hartford scarf adds extra cosy-appeal.

Alternatively, opt for a pop of colour to your winter look with Second Female’s ‘Boyas’ trousers. We love the finer details like the matching bobble on the BKLYN hat that Wendy has teamed with her ensemble. Often the problem with layering is it can get bulky, instead turn to a chunky padded jacket like J Brand’s puffa which is sure to keep you warm even with only slight layering beneath.
