The Trouser Edit

During the colder months we are of course opting for more layered warm looks and switching up some of our flowy dresses into our favourite trousers. The different trouser trends that we are seeing from checked cigarette style trousers to flared tailoring are definitely making us ditch denim this season. Sometimes trousers are quickly overlooked in stores as they might not be the flashiest of styles, but they are actually the key to some of the chicest winter looks. With the multiple ways that you can style the trouser trends it is easy to pair them for any occasion styling them up or down depending on how casual or dressed up you want to be. Whether you are heading to the office, to a dinner out at your favourite restaurant or for an autumnal walk with friends, these trouser combinations will ensure you do so in style.

A great classic way to style timeless tailored trousers is of course pairing them with a classic white shirt. These Selected Femme beige pleated trousers are a great high waisted shape that you can wear with a shirt tucked in or out depending on how you like them styled. The silk shirt from Joseph is lightweight and soft, and it is perfect for everyday use from day to night. The white shirt also looks great layered under a brown leather jacket from Selected Femme. Add a touch of print by adding some Sam Edelman heels with a brown and white cow print.

We absolutely love a monochrome look. These beautiful neutral trousers from Joseph are a tailored dream and easy to style in many different ways. The loose fitting trousers are high waisted and long, which will elongate your legs. Pair yours with a matching camel jumper from Ganni (available in store, call to buy!) and some Selected Femme white trainers for a lovely neutral look.

Corduroys are back again this autumn/winter season and we could not be happier about it. Not only are they a great way to stay warm and comfortable but they also are a great way to add a bit of texture to your outfits with different materials. These blue trousers from Bellerose are a lovely bright addition to your wardrobe and can be worn with jumpers, blouses and jackets depending on where your mood takes you. The perfect alternative to jeans when you are looking for that casual vibe but still want to look put together. Style yours with some trainers and a hoodie for the ultimate casual cord look for autumnal weekend walks.

These classic black Ganni trousers (available in store, call to buy!) are a great staple that will not be going out of style from year to year. The timeless tailored trousers are easily styled with any knitwear, shirts and tees. Anna has styled hers with a simple grey cardigan from Bellerose, a black belt bag and an Anya Hindmarch Neeson tote bag. And of course we cannot forget our most worn accessory this year, the matching face mask.

These checked brown trousers are what tailored dreams are made of. The high sitting waist with the loose fitting long leg is a great elongating shape to make your legs look extra long. These are great for wearing as a full suit with the matching jacket for a head to toe tailored look or to wear more casually with an oversized jumper and some trainers.

Of course we cannot forget about the leather trousers that keep being on trend year after year. These are a great alternative to jeans and other casual trousers and are a great way to elevate an otherwise simple casual outfit. Leather trousers are also very easy to style up or down making them incredibly versatile. And not only do they look amazing, they are also a great way to stay warm in the winter months. There are lots of great vegan leather options as well so opting for real leather is not a necessity to get this look. Style yours with a printed jumper and add your favourite wool coat and a cosy hat for easy winter style to keep the cold away.
