It’s that time of year again where the invites are flowing in for a myriad of summer events from garden parties to racing, flower shows to weddings. Straight away, our first thought when receiving said invite is ‘What on earth am I going to wear?!’. Fear not, we have you covered! Scroll on for our top picks for a few of this summer’s key events…

For upcoming garden parties our aim is to channel the Royal Chelsea Flower Show - without enforcing a strict dress code, attendees tend to lean closer to formal and floral dressing, fittingly. With that in mind, we want to bring our sartorial A game wherever we go and when we think of floral prints and feminine silhouettes, our minds instinctively drift to Rixo. The perfect piece on this occasion is their ‘Luna Diana’ design - a wrap fit, floral base and polka dot trim… what’s not to love?! Team yours with a Muun basket bag and leopard heel and you’re good to go.

ASCOT - 19-22 June
Now for Royal Ascot, with a dress code on the stricter side, one designer immediately springs to our minds: Diane Von Furstenburg. Celebrated for its bold approach to colour and print and flattering wrap silhouettes, it’s no wonder their designs soar high on our lust lists when it comes to any formal event. On this occasion, the ‘Valentina’ dress is perfect - it’s so smooth on the skin, you will feel comfortable in it all day. Finish the look with a fun pouch like Essentiel Antwerp’s version and a leopard heel.

To look wedding appropriate while still feeling comfortable in the sun, opt for breathable fabrics and longer hemlines. Ticking all the boxes for us, Rixo’s ‘Ariel’ design: cut from an airy cotton and silk-blend, it's ruched through the waist and has an elegant ruffle that cascades along the front. Complete the look with delicate gold jewellery, not taking too much attention away from the dress!

With high sartorial standards to meet, the idea here is to acquire a dress which is perfect for all-day events when you need to look smart but also want to feel comfortable: enter DVF’s ‘Farrell’ dress. It has an elegant yet modern print and a classic feminine silhouette - it’s perfect to catch a few riverside rays over Henley. Top tip: try teaming yours with a block heel or mule to avoid pointy heels sinking into the ground!
