As autumn swiftly approaches, bringing with it a host of box-fresh ideas set to transform your wardrobe, we round up the style trends for the season ahead. From the perfect animal-print shirt to the new 70s inspired wrap dress, these are the autumn/winter 2018 trends to buy into now and wear later.
Stay poised for the revival of snakeskin print this autumn/winter! Primrose Park’s hand-painted python blouse has stolen our hearts already this season. Clash or match, you can do anything you want with snake print; take a cue from Tom Ford’s AW18 catwalk, who couldn’t decide so spliced together as many patterns as he could in a single look.
Colour blocking, animal-print clashing, you name it - we’re feeling it! With so many prints to choose from this AW, it’s tricky to stick to just one. Snake, leopard and checks are just a few of our faves so the thought of confining your outfit to a single print seems simply unavoidable. Embrace the trend, there is no such thing as “too much”.
CHECK IT OUT
With the likes of Isabel Marant Etoile and Loreak, checks are coming in hot and fast for this season, our shops filling with woolly coats & jackets for the Winter. Another big trend is heavy layering of coats & knits, if in doubt, layer it up; so why not kill two birds with one stone (so to speak) and check them out..
With the catwalks awash with a nod to the subversive spirit of the Seventies, this truly is the decade that won’t die when it comes to recent fashion trends. 70's silhouettes reigned supreme; pussybow blouses, maxi dresses and bell sleeves. 70's inspired floral prints were everywhere and are a great way to embrace the trend, Essentiel Antwerp's bold green florals are a great example. For a more subtle approach opt for any shade of camel; beiges, tobacco, caramel, chestnut, and basically living life through a mango-tinted Instagram filter.
The trend that just keeps on giving! Appearing on everything this season from warming coats to silk shirts, even down to our shoes! Be feline fierce with the help of fashion’s most loved cult print: the feisty leopard. With animal prints roaming wild and free on the catwalks this season, we saw this trend clashed, matched and stand-alone. The rules are: there are no rules!
